The laser face peel is individually designed to meet the needs of each patient. The treatment utilizes specific lasers to obtain the best effect for each lesion. For example, enlarged blood vessels are first selectively erased. Then, precancerous lesions and wrinkles are removed with a Feather Touch carbon dioxide laser. Each laser is so specific, allowing the best result to be accomplished. In some cases, a chemical called TCA is added to perfect the results. After treatment, your skin peels by itself, like after a sunburn. A few days later, a younger and smoother skin takes the place of the previous damaged skin.

Patients undergoing treatment for early sun damage can often return to their normal activities within one week. Patients with more severe skin damage will require a longer recovery of up to two weeks. The results of the face peel can be preserved by following the prescribed regimen for daily skin care and by avoiding sun exposure. A mild peel can be repeated every two to three years if necessary.

The recovery time will vary according to the degree of skin damage being treated. Patients can typically return to work within one week after treating early sun damage. In more severe cases, work may be resumed after two weeks.
