Q – What is the Laser UltraLift?
The Laser UltraLift is a surgical procedure developed at the Abergel Institute to rejuvenate the eyes, eyebrows, jowls, cheeks, and neck. The Laser UltraLift is designed to address significant tissue laxity and sagging due to both gravity and aging. The Laser UltraLift provides the longest-lasting results, identical to a traditional facelift.

Q – How do I know if I’m a good candidate for the Laser UltraLift?
The best candidate for a Laser UltraLift is a patient over forty-five to fifty years old who is exhibiting heavy eyebrows and eyelids, baggy lower lids, loss of cheek bones, looseness of skin of the face and the neck, a jowly appearance, wrinkling of the perioral region, and deepening of the nasolabial folds.

Q – What happens during a consultation for a Laser UltraLift?
During the consultation with Dr. Massey & Dr. Rahimi, you will be evaluated and assessed to determine if the Laser UltraLift is right for you. You will be informed of the benefits and risks associated with the procedure to help you make an informed decision. Dr. Massey & Dr. Rahimi will make some recommendations and answer any questions that you may have. You will also be given an opportunity to view photographs and a DVD and to speak with our previous patients.

Q – Where do Dr. Massey & Dr. Rahimi perform the Laser UltraLift?
The Laser UltraLift is performed in our state-licensed surgery center which is adjacent to St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica where Dr. Massey & Dr. Rahimi have privileges.

Q – What form of anesthesia is the Laser UltraLift performed with?
General anesthesia is used for the Laser UltraLift.

Q – How is Laser UltraLift performed?
The Laser UltraLift is tailored to each individual. While the most important concept is tissue repositioning, the procedure combines several of the best plastic surgery techniques including laser eyelid surgery, browlift, facelift, necklift, fat implant, chin implant, liposculpture, laser peel and other advanced techniques.

Q – How long does the Laser UltraLift take to perform?
The Laser UltraLift usually takes three to four and a half hours to complete.

Q – Can I drive myself home after my Laser UltraLift procedure?
Because general anesthesia is used, you will not be able to drive yourself home afterward and will, instead, spend the first night of your recovery in a recovery facility located across the street from our surgery center.

Q – Where are the incisions made for the Laser UltraLift?
The incisions for the Laser UltraLift are located around the ears.

Q – Will the Laser UltraLift leave scars?
The incisions made for the Laser UltraLift, located around the ears, will result in scars though they tend to be well concealed.

Q – Will I experience much pain after my Laser UltraLift?
There is usually very little pain during the recovery after the Laser UltraLift.

Q – What can I expect of the recovery after the Laser UltraLift?
You will spend the first night after your surgery in a recovery facility located across from our surgery center. You may then return to your home or hotel on the next day. There is generally very little pain due to the less invasive techniques which are used. Most patients can return to work within ten to fifteen days.

Q – When can I return to work after undergoing the Laser UltraLift?
Most patients can return to work looking more youthful and refreshed within ten to fifteen days after the Laser UltraLift.

Q – How soon can I exercise after undergoing the Laser UltraLift?
Light exercise, such as walking, can typically be resumed within three to four days after the Laser UltraLift. Heavy workouts will need to be postponed for about one month.

Q – When will my stitches be removed after my Laser UltraLift?
The stitches are removed one week after the Laser UltraLift.

Q – What are the risks of the Laser UltraLift?
Cosmetic Surgery, like any surgery, has risks. During your consultation, the possible complications of the Laser UltraLift will be discussed in detail to enable you to make an informed decision.

Q – Is the Laser UltraLift covered by insurance?
When surgeries are performed for medical reasons, such as excessive hooding of the upper eyelids, impaired vision, and breast reduction, insurance may cover part of the cost of the procedure. We will assist you in checking with your insurance carrier.

Q – How long do the results of the Laser UltraLift last?
It is difficult to predict how long the benefits of the Laser UltraLift will last since personal factors like genetics, sun exposure, smoking, obesity, and illness affect the aging process. However, the results of the Laser UltraLift are long lasting and identical to those of a traditional facelift.
