BOTOX Cosmetic
Hi Dr. Abergel,
I am looking to eliminate the lines near my eyes. I am not interested in doing Botox and do not want to end up not being able to make facial expressions. Would Restylane be the procedure?
Thank you!
Sonia
AnswerHi Sonia,
Botox is the treatment of choice for crow’s feet because it prevents the muscle that is responsible for creating the lines from contracting. Restylane or Juvederm are excellent fillers that could be used in conjunction with Botox or alone.

BOTOX Cosmetic
Hi Dr. Abergel,
What is the difference between Botox and Restylane?
AnswerRestylane is a hyaluronic acid filler designed to fill an area that is depressed like a wrinkle or acne scar. Botox is not a filler but a chemical injected to stop a muscle from contracting. By stopping the muscle from contracting the wrinkle is no longer being created.
